Enquiries

Tigh nan Shian can accommodate up to five people and is open from March - October inclusive. Lets are weekly from Saturday to Saturday.

Rates 2012

March 31st - April 27th  £395

April 28th - August 31st  £575

September 1st - October 26th  £395

*£20 discount if the house is let to only 2 people occupying one bedroom

*10% discount for two week bookings, but please note that there will be no fresh towels / linen provided after the first week at the discounted rate. (Please see below if you'd like this)

Mid-stay servicing (for stays of 2 weeks): If your stay is for two weeks, we can arrange for the house to be cleaned and / or your sheets and towels to be changed after the first week. This is charged at cost as follows:
Cleaning: £50
Laundry: £10 per person
Please let us know when booking if you would like us to do this.

Towels and linen: Included

Electricity: Charged at cost by meter reading

Children: A high chair and travel cot are available (please bring your own bedding for the cot)

Pets: We don't accommodate pets at Tigh Nan Shian

Booking Procedure


  • We will require payment of a £150 housekeeping deposit (see below) per week booked to make a firm booking.
  • The full amount payable for rental will then be due 3 weeks before your arrival date.
  • We will return your housekeeping deposit less deductions (as outlined below) as soon as possible after the end of your holiday.

Terms & Conditions


  • Arrival / Departure. The rental period for the house is from 3:30pm on the day of arrival untill 10:00 am on the day of departure. Please respect this to allow sufficient time for a proper changeover.
  • Smoking: The house is completely NO SMOKING. If you smoke outside, please do not leave your butts in the garden.
  • Pets: We do not accept pets (except guide dogs) at Tigh nan Shian
  • Your Group: Please advise us fully about the makeup of your group before booking (number in party, ages of children etc.)
  • Towels and Linen: Bedding and one set of towels per person is included in the rental. Extra bedding or towels used will incurr a laundry charge. Towels are not to be taken out of the house - please bring your own beach towels.
  • Electricity is charged at cost by meter reading.
  • Housekeeping: A housekeeping deposit of £150 per week is payable on booking. This will be returned to you, less charges for electricity (see above) after your stay. We also reserve the right to deduct amounts to cover any breakages and extra time spend cleaning if the house is left in an unacceptable condition.
  • Payment: Full cleared payment for accommodation is due 3 weeks before your arrival
  • Properties are let for holiday accommodation under the rent act Scotland 1984 section 2 (1) (a).
  • Cancellation for any reason will leave the tenant liable to the full extent of the deposit / rental paid. We will, however, endeavour to re-let the property and will refund money paid, less banking charges, if we are successful and entirely at our discretion. We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover cancellation costs.
    If the house becomes unavailable for any reason, subsequent to you having made a booking, we will cancel the booking and return any deposit paid immediately, but will not be held liable for any loss incurred by you as a result of the cancellation.
  • Damage / breakages must be paid for in full on a new for old basis. We will exclude minor breakages / damage from this policy at our discretion, but please do notify us if you break or damage anything so that it can be replaced / repaired as soon as possible.
